Opportunities: Actor Auditions
San Jose Repertory Theatre is a LORT C theatre and hires actors on a show-to-show basis. The company engages members of Actors Equity Association and occasionally actors who are eligible to join. Also, local non-union actors are sometimes hired for large-cast productions and as extras.
Auditions for each show are by invitation only and may include both Equity and non-Equity actors.
Out-of-town actors who plan to be in the San Jose area may request an audition by contacting the casting office.
San Jose Repertory Theatre also holds annual auditions in late spring/early summer. Audition information is announced on the Equity Hotline, Theatre Bay Area Hotline, Theatre Bay Area Magazine, and on this website. The Rep’s artistic staff also attends the Theatre Bay Area general auditions each year.
