Sobrato Auditorium

Our intimate theatre offers a contemporary mix of modern theatrical technology and uncomplicated classic artistry. Coupled with a world-class stage, you will find unbeatable sight lines from any our three seating sections. When hosting a presentation, lecture, class or show, the Sobrato Auditorium is an extraordinary gathering place. Underground dressing rooms may be utilized based on availability. The Main Stage offers a unique and charming sight for an intimate dinner or reception.

Capacity: 525-theatre style seating.
On the Stage: 100 sit-down, 200 reception.
Facility Usage: $3000/day

Main Lobby

Sweeping dramatic architecture, bold colors and large glass portals distinguish our Main Lobby. You will greet your guests with ease for pre-show dinners and receptions in this stunning space. Expand the size of your event by utilizing our floor to ceiling glass doors that open onto the sunny Paseo Courtyard.

Capacity: 250 reception, 100 sit-down
Facility Usage Fee: $1000/day

Paseo Courtyard

Passing directly in front of the Rep, San Jose’s Paseo de San Antonio is a wide corridor in the heart of Downtown. The courtyard adjacent to our Main Lobby is ideal for large events. Schedule your event on a beautiful sunny day or tent it for more privacy.

Capacity: 50-100 sit-down, 100-150 reception
Facility Usage: $600/day plus city permits

Upper Lobby

The Upper Lobby boasts lively views from two outdoor balconies, restrooms, and Diverse artwork graces the walls. The design and flare of the Upper Lobby presents a stimulating environment for your group and may be used in conjunction with our VIP Mercury Lounge to expand the size of your reception.

Capacity: 30-50 sit-down, 100 reception
Facility Usage Fee: $600

The San Jose Mercury News Lounge

Our luxurious private lounge, normally reserved for charitable donors, may be rented for a private meeting, intimate dinner or secluded reception. The Lounge is a great place to relax before a show and during intermission as it offers comfortable furnishings, a private kitchen and restroom.

Capacity: 30 sit-down, 45 reception
Facility Usage Fee: $50/hour

Fairmont Rooftop Terrace

Send your group four stories up to catch a breathtaking sunset from our outdoor Rooftop Terrace overlooking a bustling downtown. This versatile space creates the ideal atmosphere for receptions and parties. Jazz it up with live music and dancing for either cocktail parties or sit down dinners. Larger groups may combine the Terrace and Studio Theatre for a more memorable experience.

Capacity: 200 sit-down and reception
Facility Usage Fee: $1500/day

Studio Theatre

High ceilings and large windows complement this recently enhanced black box theatre. Adjacent to the Rooftop Terrace, this adaptable space has lighting and sound capabilities for your small scale presentation or performance. It also offers a unique area for dining.

Capacity: 100 sit-down, 150 reception
Facility Usage Fee: $1000/day
