General Office Volunteers
There are sometimes opportunities for volunteers to assist with General Office duties. None of these positions are available now, but may become available in the future. We typically pull office volunteers from our community of Front of House Volunteers.
Front of House Volunteers
The most popular way to get involved is by volunteering in the Front of House. Volunteers are the first point of contact for patrons, and may be responsible for general question referrals and assisting the House Manager with patron needs and requests to ensure a pleasant and exciting theatre experience for all. Descriptions of Front of House volunteer positions are available below.
Volunteering in the Front of House for San Jose Rep requires attendance at a training session, to become familiar with the job duties, theatre policies and emergency procedures. Once we have received and approved your application, you will receive information on the next available training dates.

Creative Playshops Assistants work with a staff member to administer children’s workshops during our regular Saturday matinee performances. Creative Playshops are for children ages 6-12, who might be too young to attend the performances. While the adults are watching theatre, their children are creating it in interactive, improvisational theatre workshops related to the themes of the main-stage production. Creative Playshops Assistants volunteer during the entire performance and will not be able to see the show on the day they volunteer. However, they receive two (2) complimentary tickets to see the show on a different date.
