Anna Bullard (Rosalind) is delighted to return to San Jose Rep, where her credits include Around the World in 80 Days, The Foreigner and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Additional credits include Ophelia in the educational DVD This is Hamlet, Collected Stories with Carol Mayo Jenkins at Cinnabar Theater, Magic Forest Farm and Killer Joe at Marin Theatre Company, and work with Actors Theatre of Louisville (Humana Festival), American Conservatory Theater, Arizona Theatre Company, Laguna Playhouse, TheatreWorks, Magic Theatre, Porchlight Theatre, Playground and the NYC Fringe Dorset Theatre Festivals. She received her BA from Whitman College and trained at Actors Theatre of Louisville. Ms. Bullard thanks the San Francisco Shakespeare Festival for showing her the ropes back when she was an 11-year-old intern.
James Carpenter James Carpenter (Jaques /Old Adam) has appeared at San Jose Rep as Picasso in A Picasso; Wintertime, By The Bog of The Cats… , Ctrl+Alt+Delete, Sideman and The Matchmaker (as Ms. Flora Van Huysen). His Bay Area credits include Scrooge at ACT, The Aurora Theatre, Marin Theatre Company, Shakespeare Santa Cruz and TheaterWorks. Mr. Carpenter was an Associate Artist for 14 years with Berkeley Repertory Theatre and is now an Associate Artist with the California Shakespeare Theatre. His out-oftown credits include The Old Globe Theatre, The Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Intiman Theatre, Arizona Theatre Company, Dallas Theatre Center and the Huntington Theatre Company. Screen credits include the feature films “The Rainmaker” and “Metro”, the independents, “Singing” and “The Sunflower Boy,” “Presque Isle” and the series “Nash Bridges.”
Blake Ellis Blake Ellis (Orlando) was last seen in Berkeley Repertory Theatre’s production of The Lieutenant of Inishmore. He has also been seen in productions at California Shakespeare Theater (Richard III), the Shakespeare Theatre Company (Love’s Labour’s Lost, The Persians, Comedy of Errors, Othello), and the Royal Shakespeare Company (Love’s Labour’s Lost).
Steve Irish Steve Irish (Touchstone) was Froggy LeSueur in The Foreigner and Vice Principal Panch in The 25th Annual Putman County Spelling Bee at San Jose Rep last season. Other Bay Area credits include Sex at the Aurora Theater; Enchanted April and Nixon’s Nixon at Center Rep; and Man and Superman at California Shakespeare Theater. He also appeared at American Conservatory Theater in The Gamester and A Christmas Carol. Irish played Orson Welles in Orson’s Shadow at Marin Theater Company and starred in The Long Christmas Ride Home at Magic Theatre. Regional theater: Henry IV at Washington, D.C.’s Shakespeare Theatre; The Show-Off and Twelfth Night at Baltimore’s CenterStage; The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui Off-Broadway at CSC Rep and Fool for Love at Portland Stage Company. He appeared in the feature films “Just Like Heaven” and “The Darwin Awards.” In July, Steve was married to Dr. Maya Soifer Irish.
Craig Marker Craig Marker (Charles /Silvius /Lord) has appeared at San Jose Repertory Theatre in The Foreigner, Iphigenia at Aulis and The Intelligent Design of Jenny Chow. Other credits include Romeo and Juliet (California Shakespeare Theater); Macbeth (Shotgun Players); Third, Theophilus North, Brooklyn Boy, Dolly West’s Kitchen, and Shakespeare In Hollywood (TheatreWorks); the World Premiere of First Person Shooter and the West Coast Premiere of The Story (San Francisco Playhouse); The Circle and Curse of the Starving Class (American Conservatory Theater); The Mousetrap and The Marriage of Figaro (Center REPertory Company); Love’s Labour’s Lost (San Francisco Shakespeare Festival); The Shape of Things and The Persians (Aurora Theatre Company); and David Edgar’s Continental Divide (Berkeley Repertory Theatre, Birmingham Repertory Theatre and Barbican Theatre (UK) and La Jolla Playhouse).
Crisit Miles Cristi Miles (Celia) is very excited to be making her San Jose Repertory debut. Her regional credits include El Grito del Bronx (Lulu) at Teatro Milagro; The Clean House (Matilde); A Streetcar Named Desire; Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, all with New Repertory Theatre and directed by Mr. Rick Lombardo; Marisol (Marisol) with the Orfeo Group; Buried Child (Shelly) with the Nora Theatre; The Winter’s Tale (Perdita) with Actors’ Shakespeare Project, Hamlet, Macbeth; The Glass Menagerie; and Our Town all with New Rep On Tour. She holds an MFA from Brandise University and is a proud member of Actor’s Equity and Orfeo Group. She would like to thank Rick for this opportunity and Clint for his love and support.
Sepideh Moafi Sepideh Moafi (Audrey /Amiens /Lord) makes her debut with San Jose Repertory Theatre. She has performed at venues including The Kennedy Center and Davis Symphony Hall, the Mendocino Music Festival, Oakland Opera, Livermore Valley Opera, Golden Gate Opera and Mission Chamber Orchestra. Ms. Moafi has sung leading roles including the title role in Agrippina, Le Nozze di Figaro, L’Elisir d’Amore, Don Giovanni, A River of Women, L’Egisto, America Tropical (in which she created the role of The India), Die Zauberflöte, Fairy Queen, Hansel and Gretel, and Bartered Bride.She received a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and is a graduate of the A.C.T. Summer Training Congress. She is a certified yoga instructor and teaches music at Amabile School of Music.
Andy Murray Andy Murray (Duke Senior /Duke Frederick /Corin) last appeared at San Jose Rep in Rabbit Hole. He has worked at American Conservatory Theatre, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, California Shakespeare Theatre, Marin Theatre Company, Magic Theatre, Seattle Repertory Theatre, Kansas City Repertory Theatre, Centerstage, The Shakespeare Theatre in Washington, D.C. and McCarter Theatre, among others. He teaches at the Berkeley Repertory School of Theatre and for the California Shakespeare Theatre.
Jeanette Penley Jeanette Penley (Phebe) is thrilled to be making her San Jose Rep debut. Ms. Penley has appeared at Center Repertory Theatre in A Christmas Carol and The Marriage of Figaro, Livermore Shakespeare Festival in As You Like It, Shady Shakespeare in Hamlet and A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Capital Stage in The Shape of Things. Other theatre companies include TheatreWorks, City Lights and Highland Theatre. International credits include Taming of the Shrew at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Medea at the International Theatre Festival in Cyprus, Greece.
Alexander Prather Alexander Prather (LeBeau /William /Lord) is thrilled to be making his professional debut in Shakespeare’s As You Like It at San Jose Repertory Theatre. He is honored to be working with such a gifted cast and crew. Mr. Prather is a recent graduate of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in Los Angeles, where he studied Musical Theatre under AMDA’s incredible instructors. He would like to thank his family and friends for their unwavering love and support.
Jonathon Shue Jonathan Shue (Dennis /Martext/Jaques de Boys /Lord) is thrilled to make his San Jose Rep debut! Bay Area credits include Algernon in The Importance of Being Earnest, Adam in Rough Crossing, Faber in Liberty Inn, Cornelius in The Matchmaker (California Theatre Center); and Scripps in the Bay Area Premier of The History Boys (New Conservatory Theatre Center). In Los Angeles, he co-wrote plays and music and performed with Three Chairs Theatre Company. He has toured nationally and internationally with California Theatre Center in such productions as Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day and The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. He is a graduate of UCLA’s School of Theatre, Film and Television. Mr. Shue thanks his family for all their love and support.
Adam Yazbeck Adam Yazbeck (Oliver /Lord) is very excited to return to San Jose Rep after performing in this year’s world premiere of The Kite Runner. Recent credits include: two seasons at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival; performing in As You Like It, Romeo and Juliet, The Cherry Orchard, The Winters Tale and Cyrano de Bergerac. Other Bay Area credits include A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Center Rep and A Short History of Nearly Everything at Marin Theatre Company. Mr. Yazbeck is profoundly passionate about Shakespeare and was a founding member of Shakespeare on the Cape, where he performed in a gender-blind cast as Olivia in Twelfth Night and as Puck in A Midsummers Night’s Dream. Mr. Yazbeck received his BFA in Acting from the University of Minnesota/Guthrie Theater Actor Training Program.
