What is THE GUILD?
The Guild is a group of Silicon Valley individuals who are committed to making this region absolutely world-class in livability. Understanding that the arts are essential to building a thriving metropolitan region, we have undertaken a bold initiative to be actively involved in the shaping of the cultural landscape of this Valley. Sometimes referred to as “venture culturalists,” Guild members have taken a leadership role in investing in the future, and the changemakers and cultural visionaries of Silicon Valley.
Guild members believe in the long view, in aiming high, and expecting greatness. What can San Jose offer culturally, that no other American city can? What sets the Valley apart from other regions in terms of arts and culture? If you could make any single change to the cultural environment in the Valley, what would it be? What are the most critical elements to having a culturally vibrant region? In the true spirit of the Valley, the Guild supports brilliance. We are motivated by ventures that set the bar higher for cultural offerings in the Valley. The possibilities are endless. This Valley is already known for being the center of innovation in the technology fields—there is simply no reason why it shouldn’t be equally renowned for its creative capital.
The Guild is operated as the major giving program of San Jose Repertory Theatre. As the flagship cultural institution of San Jose and Silicon Valley, the Rep takes very seriously its position at the forefront of the arts and cultural development in this region. To enable the continued strength and vitality of this leading organization, Guild members have made a major financial commitment to ensure its ongoing fiscal stability.
Members of The Guild have pledged a contribution to San Jose Repertory Theatre’s Annual Fund of at least $25,000. This gift is renewed annually. To become a member or for more information, contact Monika Churchill at 408-367-7293 or MonikaC@SJRep.com.
