Volunteer Opportunities: Ghostlight Society
Ghostlight Society works through numerous committees that provide fundraising and general support for the theatre and its staff. Some of the committees include:
Theatre Support
- Ghostlight Society Hosts: Assist the Rep staff in producing special events with food service and clean-up. Help with receptions and rental events.
- Office Volunteers: Provide support for the administrative staff and box-office for mailings and other large projects.
- Docents: Be trained to offer tours of the San Jose Rep facility.
- Outreach: Work with the Speaker’s Bureau to offer SJ Rep and theater-related presentations or help staff information booths at community events.
Fund-raising
- Fund-raising events: Assist in organizing and staffing special fund-raising projects, such as the Antique Art Market, as well as other arts related activities.
- Gift Shop: Staff the Curtain Call Gift Shop weekdays as well as prior to and during intermissions of Rep productions. Help with buying and stocking. (This is one of our major fund-raisers.)
Activities
- Newsletter: Help produce the seasonal newsletter Heard on the Aisle. Write articles, assist in publication and mailing.
- Social Activities: Periodic meeting and luncheons with an opportunity to visit with cast members, theater artists and staff. Help with reservations, greeting and interviews, or just come and enjoy.
- Scrapbook: Maintain and preserve archival photos and articles on Ghostlight Society Activities.
New Ideas
- Join the Ghostlight Society and help develop new activities and projects in support of San Jose Repertory Theatre.
